An official from the national ministry of transport said today that construction work in Wau Airport is hindering airplanes’ traffic.
David Martin Hassan, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Transport, told CRN News that the work is blocking flights in and out Wau airport. He said the Ministry expecting the work to finish after some time because the company contracted to do the construction did not say when the airport was going to be ready.
Mr Martin added that the ministry hopes to hear a respond from the company next week on the progress in the works.
He said the flights to Wau may resume in two weeks times.
Mr Martin explained that flights to and from Wau were suspended in March following the crash-landing of a Feeder aircraft.
He added that the crashed plane took two weeks to be removed from the runway.
Mr Martin said the ministry expected the company to finish the work so that the airport resumes normal flights.
