UNMISS, the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, has condemned the continued aerial bombardments in Bentiu, the capital of Unity State, an area heavily populated by civilians.
Hilde F Johnson, the head of the UN peacekeepers, demanded the end of indiscriminate bombings killing civilians.She reminded South Sudan and Sudan of their obligations to abide by international human rights and humanitarian laws.
Ms Johnson called on the parties to the conflict to take all measures not to harm civilians, and guarantee the safety of international aid organizations and UN personnel.
