The Sudanese army has opened two new war fronts along the Bahr El Ghazal border but the SPLA repelled their attacks.
Army spokesperson Philip Aguer Panyang told journalists today that the SPLA has repulsed two Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) attacks yesterday in Northern and Western Bahr El Ghazal states.He said SAF attacked a SPLA base in Weirgwet village of Northern Bahr El Ghazal state, but was defeated.
He added that Mujahideen carried another attack in the same front at Kiirkou area but they were beaten back to the other side of the river.
Col Aguer said the SPLA also repelled an attack in Siramalakal Boma, in Raja County of Western Bahr El Ghazal state.
He added that the South Sudanese army took over a Sudanese garrison in Kapendifi that intended to attack Siramalakal.
Col Aguer said the Kapendifi garrison was held by a SAF battalion but they were defeated and the SPLA is chasing the retreating Sudanese soldiers up to the border.
