Educators working with the youth are taking part in a two-day consultative workshop on life skills curriculum development for young people in Greater Bahr El Ghazal.
UNICEF organized the workshop in collaboration with the Government of South Sudan, Voice of Love reported.The participants from the four states of Greater Bahr El Ghazal are mostly teachers and members of community based organizations working with young people.
William Lemor Joseph, a facilitator from the national ministry of culture, said the workshop aimed at collecting different views about the needs of the market in order to prepare the youth with useful skills.
Mr Lemor explained that through these consultative meetings the ministry of education will be able to prepare a unified curriculum for youth skill programmes.
He added that teachers and youth animators are sharing what they do with the young people in terms of skills formation.
The workshop that kicked off on Wednesday in Wau is part of five consultative meetings on life skills curriculum development for Accelerated Learning Programme being conducted in different states of South Sudan.
