JUBA AND NORWEGIAN UNIVERSITIES CELEBRATE COLLABORATION

The University of Juba and the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Higher Education are celebrating three years of collaboration today by laying the foundation stone for a library at the university premises to signify the continued support of the Norwegian government to south Sudan.

Talking to SCR news, Atem Mayang, the undersecretary for Higher Education in the GoSS ministry of Education, Science and Technology, said the celebration was due to the expansion of the cooperation between the two institutions.

He added that cooperation programmes run in Juba and Upper Nile universities.

Paul Mager, head of the Norwegian Centre of the International Cooperation, said the progress in the cooperation between Juba and Norwegian universities has been successful.

He added that the Norwegian government financed the cooperation between the universities as part of the peace process.

Mr. Mager added that the Centre offers several faculties and over five projects have already been accomplished.
