Western Equatoria is opening a state branch of Nationality, Passport and Immigration Department in Yambio.
A team has already arrived in Yambio from Juba to make the necessary arrangements, Anisa FM reported.Light Elinama Wajo told the press that they are part of teams that were sent to the ten states in South Sudan to open the new Department of Nationality, Passport and Immigration in the state capitals.
He said their team arrived on Monday in Yambio to carry out a survey and meet with the state Governor and the Police Commissioner.
Governor Bangasi Bakosoro welcomed warmly the team that very soon will start establishing the office in the State Secretariat.
Col. Elinama said the director general will pay visit to Yambio to launch the new Nationality and Passport Department in the State.
He noted that only South Sudanese citizens can receive the Nationality Certificate; foreigners must apply for visas to legalize their stay in the country.
