The President of the Republic said today he does not take orders from UN chief to withdraw from Higlig.

President Salva Kiir Mayardit told MPs at the national assembly that he could not sleep because so many heads of state including the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon phoned him over the occupation of Higlig.

He said Mr Ban ordered him to withdraw immediately from Higlig.

He explained that he told the UN chief that he was not under his command to take orders, and nobody should tell him what to do as the head of an independent state.

President Kiir complained that when South Sudan reported to the international community Sudan’s bombardments of its territories it did not take the matter seriously.

He said when South Sudan took control of Higlig everyone become concerned and called the government to withdraw its forces.

President Kiir accused the UN secretary general of being unfair towards South Sudan.

President Kiir added that if Mr Ban wanted to bring justice between South Sudan and Sudan he should give each their due rights.
