SUDANESE NATIONALS ARE FOREIGNERS IN SOUTH SUDAN

The Interior Ministry has declared Sudanese nationals living in South Sudan as foreigners in respond to Khartoum’s decision to force Southerners to regularize their status or leave the country.

Inspector General of Police Major General Tito Acuiel read the press release on behalf of the Interior Minister Alison Manani Magaya.

He said all Sudanese living in South Sudan are now foreigners.

He added that they will receive free temporary resident documents until they get their situation regularized.

Maj. Gen Acuil added that Sudanese in South Sudan will have enough time to have their immigration status resolved in accordance with international laws.

He said all Sudanese entering the country by air, land and water now must have entry visas.
