Upper Nile State legislators were sworn-in on Thursday in Malakal.
Upper Nile State Legislative Assembly Chol Chuily Arop pledged zero tolerance against corruption, Voice of Love reported.He told the state MPs that he will not tolerate any corruption and promised accountability for those who may be found diverting state resources.
The speaker told the governor not to hesitate in making any decision against corruption.
Mr Arop told the governor to appoint to his next cabinet only those who can deliver services.
State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tabisa Gwang Agwok congratulated the MPs and told them to be proud of their state Transitional Constitution.
She said the Constitution reminds the people of Upper Nile of their struggle for freedom during the civil war that resulted in the independence of South Sudan.
