A team of medical personnel from the United States arrived in Morobo County of Central Equatoria to offer free surgical operation services to patients in need.
Morobo County press secretary Data Moses told Radio Easter via a mobile phone that the American team arrived in the county on Wednesday.The doctors will carry out mainly appendicitis and stomach surgeries.
He added that the services are free of charge for the residents of Morobo County and for patients of South Sudan and from the neighbouring areas.
Mr Data said more than 50 people turned up yesterday for the free service at Morobo Referral Hospital.
He added that the program will run for seven days and the team will then fly back to the United States.
Mr Data said the American medical team is expected to return to Morobo next year.
County medical officer Emmanuel Adde appealed to all the citizens to turn up for this free opportunity of treatment in order for them to live a better life.
The program is being sponsored by a Unite States’ based Church organisation called Sudan Christian Outreach.
