The Eastern Equatoria state governor has introduced changes in governance practices and issued strict norms to ministers, advisors and county commissioners.

Louis Lobong told the new state administrators that they need to understand the institution they head and manage it properly, Radio Emmanuel reported.

He told them to know and follow the regulations of civil service, prepare monthly reports to the head of the government and fundraise for their activities.

The governor wrote a 14-point guideline for the new officials and he said he expected them to follow it.

Mr Lobong informed the cabinet, state advisors and county commissioners that a full time deputy governor will closely monitor their performance to ensure they are up to the expectations of the people and of the government.

The Governor added that changes are normal in politics.

Fourteen ministers appointed to the new cabinet of Eastern Equatoria State, an advisor and seven county commissioners took the oath of office on Wednesday to serve in the government of the state.
