Two officials involved in the implementation of projects under the South Sudan Recovery Fund in Lakes State have confirmed that the two-year over 20-million-dollar projects are within the timeframe for their execution.

Kunal Dhar of United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Peter Ooko of United Nations Office for Partnerships (UNOPs) told Good News Radio that by June 18 facilities should be ready.

The projects include two roads, two County Police Stations, five Payam Police Posts, seven courts, and 16 boreholes.

Mr Dhar said almost all projects will be completed ahead of time, except one road that is slightly delayed.

Mr Ooko on his part highlighted some of the challenges faced by the implementation of the projects that include lack of legal documentation over land ownership, accessibility and insecurity.

Mr Dhar praised the Lakes State government officials for their role in leading and overseeing the implementation of the projects.

He said the projects should improve security to increase investment and trade in Lakes State.
