The US Embassy Charge d’affaires in South Sudan said today at the inauguration of the AU Regional Cooperation Initiative to hunt down Joseph Konyi that the Ugandan rebel leader will be brought to justice very soon.
Christopher Datta said Mr Konyi has fooled the world for long using bordering states.He said Kony will face justice and it is going to be very soon because this time the world has come together to get him.
Mr Datta described Kony as a clever monster who has been fooling the world for nearly 30 years and managed to avoid capture and be brought to justice.
He explained that Konyi managed to keep the world divided and able to move from Uganda to DR Congo, to South Sudan and now in Central Africa Republic.
Mr Datta said the LRA leader was able to use the borders against the world and continued to commit horrible crimes and evade justice.
Mr Datta added that Uganda, DR Congo, South Sudan and Central African Republic, the EU, the AU and the US will work together to bring Konyi to justice.
