The authorities of Juba City Council have started distributing plots to the business people whose shops were demolished last month in Konyokonyo’s south market.

Francis Taban Henry, chief administrator of Kator payam, said the authorities were giving plots to the right owners after demolitions were carried out.

Mr Taban explained that the demolition was jointly agreed by the administration of Kator payam and Konyokonyo business people in a bid to reorganise the market in order to reduce risks including theft, fire and congestion.

Mr Taban said the new market was well planned and business people should process their legal documents in order to start building their shops with permanent materials.

He told traders in Konyokonyo to build their shops within three months.

The Kator chief said he wanted Konyokonyo South market fully operational within three months.

He regretted the unfortunate fire that destroyed Konyokonyo north market one week ago.
