A businesswoman has stepped in to help the children who live in Juba’s orphanage.
Rose Pita Juma, popularly known as Mama Zahra, is a successful local woman owning two restaurants in Juba.She told Bakhita Radio that she has a big interest to help the orphans because she lost both parents when she was small.
Mama Zahra explained that she tasted how difficult it is to be an orphan.
She said she wants also to contribute for the welfare of the streets children the government is planning to bring from Khartoum.
She explained that she is ready to give work on her restaurants and pay for their studies.
Mama Zahra advised women in South Sudan to engage in any kind of work that gives them an income.
She said work is not a disgrace.
Mama Zahra said she began her business in 1992 with only one kilo of beans but now she became a multi-millionaire businesswoman.
She assists orphans with food, employment, and education opportunities.
