Five people died and many others were injured in an accident along the Nimule-Juba road yesterday mornig.
The accident that occurred near Loa involved a tipper lorry and a bus from Uganda with a Kenyan number plate.Eyewitnesses told Radio Emmanuel over the phone that the accident occurred after the bus rammed onto the side of a lorry parked along the road side.
Five people travelling in the lorry to a funeral died.
Another eyewitness claimed that the bus driver was beaten to death by an angry mob but Radio Emmanuel could not confirm the information from other sources.
The injured passengers were rushed to Nimule Hospital.
Yesterday’s accident was the worst along Nimule-Juba road this year.
Last year, 28 people died when two buses collided head-on on the same road.
