A huge fire reduced to ashes part of Juba’s popular Konyo Konyo market yesterday evening.
Konyo Konyo is one of the biggest and oldest markets in Juba where many residents go for shopping.The fire started in the cloths section in the centre of the market and spread quickly to other parts, Bakhita Radio reported.
Fire-fighters were seen gazing at the fire taking no action.
Some locals complained that the fire trucks took ages to arrive.
Although many shop owners lost their properties Ðmany had already closed down and left the market Ð there were no human losses to lament.
The causes that started the blaze are not clear.
