An official from the Central Equatoria Islamic Council has complained that his organization was not invited to attend the congress organized in Juba earlier this week to form the Council of South Sudan Moslems.

Khalil Ramadan Godum is the deputy secretary general for Central Equatoria Islamic Counci. He told Bakhita Radio that is organization was not invited to attend the conference.

Mr. Ramadan complained that Muslim groups in Bahr el Ghazal, Upper Nile and Greater Equatoria were all not invited to the meeting while most participants who attended the Congress came from northern Sudan.

Mr. Ramadan said if the conference was intended to congregate all Muslins from Southern Sudan the organizers should have invited all Islamic organizations in the region in order for them to be able to run their religious and social activities.

The three-day conference concluded on Wednesday in Juba.
