More than 30 youths from the various parishes of Juba Catholic Archdiocese received trainers of trainers formation to disseminate information on HIV and AIDS awareness.
Primo Wani Andrea, Youth Director in the Archdiocese of Juba, told Bakhita Radio that his office brought the youth from all the parishes to learn skills in AIDS awareness in order to train their peers.He said the programme √É”Education for life”, in collaboration with Caritas office, was intended to change the behaviour of the youth.
Mr Wani explained that the training dealt with some topics such as HIV and AIDS infections and how to prevent them.
He mentioned poverty, drug abuse, war and early and forceful marriage as some causes for the fast spread of HIV and AIDS in South Sudan.
Mr Wani said the formation is a long learning process.
