The local administration of the Heiban County, in Nuba Mountain, said that some crimes in the area were directly sponsored by external agents to disrupt the SPLM-North government.
Heiban County chairman Younan Al-Barut said he held recently a meeting that raised concern about crescent criminality in the region.He said the committee realised that some criminals seem to come from abroad due to their technical capacities.
Mr Al-Barut said the authorities decided to place some measures to arrest criminals from outside or from within and bring them to justice.
He added that the police is not able to guard Kauda market alone and the authorities have to strengthen security in the area.
Heiban County authorities vowed to continue conducting meetings to find ways to fight crime and theft in the region.
