The national ministry of health in conjunction with the World Health Organization and other health developmental partners launched today a five-year health development plan to establish a national health system in the country.

Addressing participants, national health minister Michael Milly Hussein said the plan presents guidelines for the national health care system, Bakhita Radio reported.

He added that the government wants to deliver basic health care to all citizens.

Minister Milly said the plan considers an increase of health staff in the next two years in order to extend health services to the whole country.

The minister added that despite the austerity budget the government should increase its funds for health.
