Kenyan Immigration Attach√Ö¬Ω in Juba, Peter Omondi Okal, told CRN today that the registration in the embassy is ongoing and started sometimes back.

He said it is a basic requirement for every Kenyan national in a foreign country to get registration at the Kenyan Embassy.

Mr Omondi said the Embassy has registered about 9,000 Kenyan within Juba.

He said the embassy had sent some teams to Torit and Kapoeta to register those living there.

Mr Omondi said it is the policy of the embassy to register all nationals in foreign countries and called upon Kenyans to register with South Sudan government as foreigners.

He said some few individuals feared to register because they did not have valid documents that recognised them because they came through unlawful means.

Mr Omondi called upon the Kenyan to come and register even if they don’t have any legal documents.

He urged all foreigners living in South Sudan to register with their respective embassies and bear valid documents to avoid problems.
