OBAMA 2013 BUDGET INCLUDES SOUTH SUDAN

The budget for 2013 the President of the United States submitted to the Congress yesterday includes aid assistance to South Sudan.

The document says that South Sudan will benefit from 2.7 billion US dollars allocated to help developing countries and countries in transition from conflict.

The funding will be use to increase agricultural productivity, expand educational opportunities especially for girls, strengthen democratic institutions and the rule of law, and enhance the capacity of the Legislative Assembly.

The Budget text explains that aid will be delivered only if South Sudan government supported freedom of expression, established democratic institutions and investigated and punished members of security forces who violated human rights.
