The pay rise for officers in the organized forces will spur their performance and officers should recommit themselves to their mission.
Western Bahr El Ghazal Police Commissioner Abraham Manyuat Peter praised the Government of South Sudan for having increased the salaries of the organized forces, Radio Voice of Hope reported.Police officers are receiving the new salary since last Friday after adjustments was made in Juba with a minimum amount of 700 pounds.
Major General Manyuat acknowledged the president’s decision saying the move will enable police officers to meet the basic necessities and concentrate in their duties.
He added that officers should show responsibility by committing themselves to protect life, property and public tranquillity.
The Commissioner called on the police officers to respect their uniforms and use them only on duty.
Last week, the organized forces in Western Bahr El Ghazal were surprised to hear that the old salary structure was remitted in the state treasury.
This left the police with mixed feelings and questions that led to disagreements and demands for the new salary scale.
