The non-governmental organization Arkangelo Ali Association, popularly known as Triple A, has received international status with a mandate to operate worldwide.
Triple A came into existence in 2006 as a transformation of the Department of Health of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek with the aim to expand its health services in new areas in South Sudan beyond the jurisdiction of the diocesan territory. The Ministry of Justice wrote a letter endorsing the international status of Triple A, on January 27, Good News Radio reported.
Chief Registrar Peter Gatkouth Kor, who signed the document, acknowledges the global scope of Triple A, explaining that its governing board convinced the Directorate of Business Registry in the Ministry of Justice that its activities are not to be limited to the Republic of South Sudan.
He explained that the decision to endorse the request for upgrading Triple A was based on the fact that the NGO registered and reported growth from June 2009 to date, deserving the status to operate in other countries outside of South Sudan.
Currently, Triple A operates in six states of Southern Sudan, including Lakes, Northern and Western Bahr-el Ghazal, Warrap, and Western and Central Equatoria.
Triple A offers employment in various health facilities to over 300 South Sudanese and has up to 40 expatriate staff.
It employs doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians and logisticians.
