China plans to build a cement factory in Western Bahr El- Ghazal taking advantage of row materials in Raja County.

The state ministry of Finance signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wu Yi Chinese Cement Company on Tuesday, Radio Voice of Hope reported.

The company plans to process Mangayat’s cement rich areas of Raja County as soon as feasibility studies are complete.

State finance minister Moris Yuel Akol told the press that the MoU is valid for six months but the Chinese investors should start their studies on the ground immediately.

Mr Yuel said cement is a key ingredient for development.

He explained that a bag of cement costs more than 110 pounds.

He said the Mangayat plant will be able to produce much cheaper cement for the local markets and for export.

This week alone the Western Bahr El-Ghazal government signed six MoUs with different foreign companies planning to invest in the State.
