A journalist working for Bakhita Radio was beaten by security personnel at the National Legislative Assembly yesterday.

Mading Ngor told Bakhita Radio that he was rounded up by at least four security men and wrestled to the ground in front of other journalists.

He said he was arrested when he resisted orders to leave the premises of the parliament.

Mr Ngor said his ordeal was very embarrassing to the media in South Sudan.

Mr Ngor explained that his trousers were torn and the security personnel did not know what to do with him.

Mr Ngor concluded that South Sudan without media law will continue to be a bad place for journalists to work.
