The government of South Sudan has confirmed that South Sudanese students are being targeted by security personnel in the Sudan.

The report was presented yesterday to the council of ministers by the minister of higher education Peter Adwok.

Information minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin, who is also the government’s spokesperson, told the press that Dr. Adwok visited South Sudanese students in Khartoum and met with university students’ representatives.

The students reported they were harassed by the Sudanese security.

Dr Marial said the government is waiting the ministry to present a complete plan to repatriate students from Khartoum.
