A Kenyan trader lost thousands of pounds when fire destroyed his hardware shop in Torit.
Charles Odang told the press that the fire was caused by a generator while workers were busy welding, Radio Emmanuel reported.He said among the goods that went up on flames there was a consignment that arrived on Tuesday, a day before the fateful incident.
It included cement, doors, widows, softer set beds, timbre, small generators, glasses and mattresses.
Some of the property was looted by passers-by while people attempted to put off the fire.
