A large group of the youths from the Archdiocese and secondary schools of Juba flooded the football stadium to celebrate the memorial of Don Bosco during the visit of his relic to South Sudan.

The relics of St. John Bosco had been in South for the last ten days visiting Wau, Rumbek, Yambio and Juba dioceses where the Salesians are present.

The Youth director in the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba, Primo Wani Andria, told Bakhita Radio that St. John Bosco is the patron of the youth in the Catholic Church.

He said it was great to have the relic of St John Bosco in Juba since last Saturday and today’s celebration in the stadium marked the conclusion of that visit.

Mr. Wani said the visit of St John Bosco’s relic should make a change in the life of young people.

He urged the youngsters to live in unity and love to overcome tribalism and nepotism and stop inter-tribal conflicts in South Sudan.

The relic of St John Bosco leaves tomorrow for Mali, the next the next stop in its 130-country five-year world tour until 2015.
