The visit of St Don Bosco’s relic to South Sudan concludes today in Juba with a youth festival at the football stadium.
The Archdiocese of Juba invited representations from all youth groups to attend the event and the Ministry of Education instructed secondary school students to take part in the festival.Vicar General, Fr Nicholas Kiiri, presides over he Eucharist in honour of St Don Bosco at 10h00 whose memorial the Catholic Church celebrates today.
Then the youth festival rolls on until 4 PM with music, arts and drama from catholic youth groups and South Sudanese singers.
Salesian Fr Cyril Odiya, from the organizing committee, told CRN News over the phone that the visit of St Don Bosco’s relic to South Sudan has been excellent and well beyond all expectations.
The relic visited Wau, Tonj, Yambio and Maridi before arriving in Juba on Saturday evening.
Tomorrow, the relic flies to Mali, the next stop in its 130-country, five-year world tour until 2015.
