Central Equatoria State Anti-Corruption Commission said it has recovered 144,000.00 pounds from two cases last year.

Chairperson Mariata Takowa Adoma explained that 250 cases were reported at the anti graft office and only three have been investigated so far.

She said some of the cases reported were not really corruption related but they were able to investigate them and recovered 144,000.00 pounds.

Ms Takowa added that social accountability is very important because it educates people about service delivery and corruption awareness.

She said the commission wants to clean Central Equatoria from corruption and put a good system of accountability in place.

Ms Takowa was speaking at a workshop organized by the commission on social accountability to caution all the stakeholders to avoid favouritism.
