The citizens of Yei have been urged to cooperate in maintaining and keeping the town clean.

Yei River County Payam Director Alfhati Morgan told Radio Easter that Yei is a cosmopolitan town where many people live and there is careless littering.

He said the people have a collective responsibility to ensure that environment sanitation is maintained in the town centre and in the residential areas.

Mr Alfhati criticized some families who do not have pit latrines in their houses.

He urged people of Yei to avoid unnecessary disposal of garbage to curb imminent outbreak of diseases like cholera as rainy season nears.
