The speaker of the Eastern Equatoria state Assembly urged the youth to petition the State Constitution Review Commission to include their representation demands during the state’s permanent Constitution process making.
Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi made the remark in response to a question posed to him on the complaints raised by youths that the state Transitional Constitution due to be sign tomorrow does not cater for their interests.
He suggested the youths should appeal for inclusion of their demands to have direct representation in parliament like in the neighbouring countries.
Mr Emmanuel advised youths to have their demands included in the permanent state Constitution not the transitional one.
He added that Eastern Equatoria is rated as the first to have persons with special needs represented in the state assembly.
The speaker pointed out the state Transitional Constitution recognised the brail language for the blind as one of the languages of states that deserved attention.
