The president of the government of Southern Sudan has urged all citizens in the region to respect any religion and the right of worship.
Salva Kiir Mayardit made this appeal while addressing the General Conference of the Muslims Across Southern Sudan that started today in Juba.Mr. Kiir said his government respects its Constitution that gives freedom of worship to every citizen in southern Sudan.
He added that a faithful is known from what he does.
Mr. Kiir said differences in religions should not be a source of division among people of God.
GoSS President urged any believer to maintain the principles of his religion with due respect to other religions.
The three-day Conference is being attended by Muslims across Southern Sudan, and guests from Arab Islamic states, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
