Heiban County political chairman has denounced the issue of random shooting in Nuba Mountains.
Younan Albarut sent a strong message yesterday to all the civilians and soldiers in the area to avoid shooting their guns without a valid reason.He said random shooting confuses security personnel.
Mr Albarut explained that enemy forces attacked a Shwaiya cattle camp, shot a boy and took 43 cows but the security forces did not identify the attack because they confused it with casual shooting.
The official said a person should shoot only in self defence when there are attacks and not for fun.
Mr Albarut warned residents to stop indiscriminate gunshots especially during parties or celebrations or they shall be held responsible for shooting without any critical reason.
