The Catholic Bishop of Tombura-Yambio has called on all people of South Sudan to pursue peace, justice, righteousness, reconciliation, truth and true compassion in 2012.

Bishop Barani Hiiboro Eduardo Kussal wrote in his New Year Message that 2011 has been the year of freedom, liberty, peace and equal opportunity for all in the Baby Republic of South Sudan.

He said 2012 will be the year of reconstruction, construction, rehabilitation and reintegration in all aspects of the people of South Sudan.

Bishop Hiiboro asked parents and educators to give special attention to the youth and their concerns in 2012.

He explained that to listen and appreciate the youth is not a strategy but a primary duty for society as a whole, for the sake of building a future of justice and peace.

Bishop Hiiboro expressed his concern about the drift of young people from the rural to the urban areas of Western Equatoria.

He also mentioned the conflict on boarders brewing at Ibba-Maridi, Maridi-Yei, Tombura-Nagero County and Azande-Balenda.

Bishop Hiiboro urged the faithful to dream, to try to imagine how each one can help in some small way to make the world a better world.
