The Catholic Assistant Bishop of Juba has blessed today the new Holy Family chapel in the capital’s Nyakuron residential area.

Peter Ibbra, who is the Deputy Chairperson of Holy Family chapel, told Bakhita Radio that the praying centre was first established in a primary school compound in 1985.

He said the premise at Atlabara Basic School became too small and the community requested a plot to build a new chapel.

Mr Ibbra added that the construction started this year at Nyakuron residential area and the chapel was officially inaugurated today.

Bishop Santo Loku Pio told the congregation that the celebration of the Holy Family of Nazareth is a reminder that the natural family needs to be united in love with Christ.

He said both good and bad behaviours in the society come from the family.

Bishop Loku urged Christians of Holy Family chapel to mould their family life so that they become exemplary citizens.

The Holy Family feast was also celebrated at Saint Mathew’s parish in Lobonok payam.
