A 16-year old South Sudanese refugee has scored a total of 440 marks and became the fourth best performer in the Kenyan Primary Leaving Examinations.
Kenyan Minister of Education Sam Ongiri released the results on Tuesday and the South Sudanese pupil Kual Tito Ajok talked to Kenya National Television on Wednesday, Radio Emmanuel reported.He explained that his success in the exam will allow him achieving his dream to study medicine in order to help his people back home in South Sudan.
Tito, who studied at Udhiru Primary School while staying at Kawangware estate with his five brothers as refugees in Kenya, wants to join Alliance National School.
He appealed to well-wishers to help him achieve his goal.
His elder brother Kuol said that the boy worked hard to achieve his dream.
He added that Tito only slept for two hours and spent most of the time reading his study books.
He attributed Titus’ success to the teachers and his five brothers who worked hard to teach him how to read and write at an early age.
