The president of the republic will travel to Juba on Monday in a visit that is expected to last for two days.
Omar Hassan al-Bashir’s visit is in his capacity as the President of the Republic of Sudan and also the presidential candidate for the, the National Congress Party (NCP) in the upcoming April elections, Sudan Tribune website reported.The visit was announced to GoSS Council of Ministers on Friday in Juba by President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
GoSS acting spokesperson, Madut Biar Yel, said Mr. al- Bashir will also travel to Torit and Yambio.
He is also expected to visit Yei and Magwi counties in the Greater Equatoria states.
The visit is seen as the official launch for his elections campaign in the South as the polling day is only five weeks away.
Mr. al-Bashir is touring the different Sudanese states calling for peace and development.
