PRISON GUARD COMMITS SUICIDE OVER INMATE EASCAPE

A prison guard attached to Torit County prison, in Eastern Equatoria state, has committed suicide over the escape of an inmate from his custody.

Kasimiro Ohisa, who was on duty on Thursday, shot himself dead after realizing that one of the prisoners had escaped from the cell, Radio Emmanuel reported.

Prisons Director at Torit County, Col. Brown Lubong Wuak, said Mr. Kasimiro killed himself after checking the prison cell and finding that one inmate had escaped from detention.

Col. Lubong added that the deceased warden suffered from mental problems and was under the influence of alcohol at the time he committed suicide by unleashing bullets at his chest while on duty.
