Eastern Equatoria State Legislative Assembly broke off for recess amid the Governor’s call for commitment to democracy and transparency.

Governor Louis Lobong Lojore appreciated the MPs’ efforts to ensure that the executive is transparent in financial management, Radio Emmanuel reported.

The governor said it had not been easy to meet high expectations against limited resources saying grants from the national Government are not enough to address all the priorities of the state.

Mr. Lobong added that implementation of some of the State’s plans were hindered due to challenges that included cattle raiding, highway robbery, killings due to influence of alcohol, land disputes, local politics and bandits.
