Didinga and Buya communities of Budi County are reburying the late paramount Chief Joseph Nakuwa who passed away in 1999.
Joseph Lokodo, a member of Eastern Equatoria parliament from Budi County, said the remains of the late paramount chief have been exhumed from Himan and taken to Chukudum, Radio Emmanuel reported.Mr. Lokodo described late Joseph Nakuwa as a great man who led the Buya and the Didinga people into peaceful co-existence with the neighbouring communities.
The Didinga-Buya paramount chief died during the freedom struggle while in pursuit of peace between the communities and the SPLA forces.
Late Paramount chief Joseph Nakuwa is survived by four wives and 22 children.
A mass will be held in the memory of late paramount chief Nakuwa on Sunday at Chukudum Parish.
