Youth from Manyang-ngok payam in Tonj South County, Warrap State, caught a cattle rustler.
The executive director of Tonj south county, Augustino Akoc Agoth said that the youth from Tonj identified four thieves, one with a gun and the other three with spears, although the three managed to escape.
The executive director stated that the thieves attempted to raid ten herds of cattle but were engulfed by young people.
He added that no injuries were caused on the detainee, because the deputy payam administrator and sergeant of police at the area rushed in and secured his situation. The detainee said that one of his colleagues had a gun and shot at the crowd with two bullets, but nobody was harmed.
Mr. Akoc Agoth said a decision to transfer the detainee to Cueibet or have him remain in Tonj prison will be taken in a few days.
He urged cattle owners in the county to be careful.
