Women of South Sudan started preparing to participate actively in the process to review a permanent Constitution for the new country.

Women countrywide have been receiving directives and trainings on how they can influence policy makers in the constitutional development process, Bakhita Radio reported.

Hellen Mursalli, Minister for Social Development in Central Equatoria, said yesterday during the closure of a training for trainers session that women should get ready to contribute with their ideas especially in gender issues to the Constitution.

She added that leading women have been prepared to work with their sisters and involve them in the constitution review process.

Ms. Mursalli said the new Constitution should reserve 30 percent of all constitutional posts to women.

The Transitional Constitution says the President of the Republic has to establish a Commission to be known as National Constitutional Review Commission within one month.
