The South Sudan Communist Party does not agree with a provision in the law regulating political parties that bans civil servants from political membership.

The party said in a statement that civil servants played an effective role during the struggle for South Sudan’s independence and should not be deprived of their rights of party membership.

The Communist party asked if the SPLM is going to deprive its thousands of members in the civil service of the right to belong to the ruling party.

The statement said that South Sudan should not take away the rights for political membership.
