Western Bahr El Ghazal State Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Urban Construction has accounted for its credibility in implementing the first 100 days action plan.

The 100 Days programme was a call from the President of South Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit a month after independence for all ministers to enact a number of services on the ground

Juliet Raphael Makel, Physical Infrastructure and Urban Construction minister, told VOH, Radio Voice of Hope, that her ministry has raised 16 payam headquarters in the three counties of Western Bahr-El Ghazal plus two courts and a big bridge.

She said the buildings are being done in line with the 100 Days ministry’s action plan.

Ms. Raphael explained that two payam headquarters have already been officially open, while four are expected to be functional soon.

She lamented that despite the ministry’s efforts, roads maintenance remains a challenge that it is expected to loop to next year.

Ms. Raphael said that poor condition of roads in the state is reflecting negatively on the market prices together the high dollar rate and the closure of supply routs from the Sudan and prices tripled.

The minister added that the situation has been worsened by the interruption of the road from Yambio since Boo and Bussere bridges were broken last August.

The collapse of these two bridges is strongly affecting the commodity prices since goods cannot reach Wau from Uganda and DR Congo via Western Equatoria.
