The two commissioners of Tonj South and Tonj East of Warrap state held a meeting yesterday on conflict strategies with the commissioner of Cueibet County of Lakes state.
Cueibet Commissioner Mayom Malek, who hosted the meeting, said it was a good move by his colleagues to come and share the experience of disarmament with him.He said that his county was ranked as the first that had conducted the disarmament well out of eight counties of Lakes state.
Tonj South Commissioner Akech Tong said the insecurity between the two counties has decreased from the time they took office.
He added that he had come also to talk about stolen cattle, saying that 19 cows were stolen on November 12 at Adama and his personal cattle (eight in number) were also taken from Timthok.
Tonj East Commissioner Gai Manyuan briefed his colleagues on disarmament saying that there are still some civilians with guns.
The three commissioners agreed to report stolen cattle to each other as one of the outcomes of the meeting.
