A surgical mission from Italy is already screening patients and should begin on Monday operating at Rumbek State Hospital.
Michael Kuotwel Mading of Rumbek State Hospital told Good News Radio that the mission examined more than 30 patients to assess their health condition and many more should come forward for an appointment.Dr. Kuotwel added that all patients that need surgeries will be operated upon by the Italian doctors.
Eduardo Belgerano, a volunteer surgeon, said his team plans to perform the necessary operations during ten days.
He asked the public to donate blood for the team to be able to perform much needed major surgeries.
The two medical doctors advised all the patients requiring surgical attention to report to Rumbek State Hospital as soon as possible for firsthand assessment.
