The Western Bahr El-Ghazal ministry of physical infrastructure said it has reserved about 3,000 square meters of land to resettle the increasing number of returnees coming to the state.

Since April, Wau has been receiving thousands of returnees who are in urgent need of land for resettlement, Voice of Hope reported.

The Director of Survey in the ministry of physical infrastructure, Leon Uyak Madut, said his ministry is prioritizing plots allocation for returnees and has prepared some 2,500 plots of land for returnees.

He added that his directorate will soon finalize the demarcations so that, by the beginning of next rainy season, the returnees should have built shelters for themselves.

Eng. Uyak explained that the allocation of the land is done in consultation with local residents before plots are issued to avoid any land related problems.

Eng. Uyak said the ministry has already demarcated another 7,050 plots for returnees in Allel Chok andt there are plans to survey areas along the road leading to Bussere for extra plots.
